Knowing I could not physically have or raise children of my own, I decided to sponsor needy children all around the world. I love to send and receive letters, so the fact that I can correspond with most of my children is an added bonus. I have sponsored so many children since 2000. Here are photos of just some of them.

Leticia from Honduras was the first child I ever sponsored back in 2000. I let ChildFund randomly select a child for me.

Here is my last photo of Leticia before she graduated from the sponsorship program in 2015. She has been my longest sponsorship. I was so glad I could watch her grow up into a beautiful young lady.

This is Alba. She is also from Honduras. Her father is a factory worker and her mother is a butcher. I sponsor her through Children International.

This is Fatoumata from Mali. She would like to be a teacher. I sponsor her through Save the Children.

This is Kismart from Uganda. I pay her school fees through a small non-profit group called Auntie’s Angels run by a very nice couple.

This is Samuel from Ethiopia. I have written to him through Compassion‘s correspondence program since January 2016. He is in 11th grade and likes to sing. In one of his letters he told me he plays the keyboard at his church.

This is Nastya. She lives in an orphanage in Kazakhstan. I sponsor her and her sister Katya through the Antares Foundation.

This is Geethika from India. She belongs to a group called Happy Hearts that meets on Sundays. I receive photos of her weekly.
